I was really excited to work on a project with a former alumni of Des Moines University, Dr. Fredric Gold. It is a humbling experience when a client commissions a sculpture to donate to their alma mater. The excitement Dr. Gold has shown for this project is contagious. I installed the "Gathering" in September 2018.
John and Sharon Amdall commissioned the "Community Spirits" after a tornado touched down in Washington, IL. Five Points was a gathering place before and after the storm while the town rebuilt from the devastation. This project was close to my heart after hearing the stories of the tornado survivors and also knowing that John and Sharon were also rebuilding from the tornado.

“Duet speaks to us in a language we intrinsically feel familiar, yet are unable to convey ourselves,” he said. “It speaks to us in the most fundamental of human needs and emotions: the need to love and be loved, the need to be an individual, but also part of a whole. Duet is in fact the artistic equation of Love itself, where 1 + 1 = 1.”
Quote by Dr. Fredric Gold.
Dr. Gold and his wife Linda Gold donated the "Duet" to Michigan State, his Alma mater.
I currently live in Harrisburg, MO, A small community outside of Columbia, MO. I have been sculpting since I was 15 and for the last 20 years have made my living by my sculpture. In 2012, I made the decision to open my own foundry so I am also able to pour my work, which is cast by the lost wax method. My wife, Melinda, has been a integral part of the process. Melinda does my wax work and the office side of the business. I strive everyday to make the world a little more beautiful.
